Healthy and Safety & Environmental Policy

We consider that health, safety and respect for the environment and safeguarding of assets are essential to the efficient operation of our activities and to our employees, contractors and other stakeholders. We are commit-ted to having an HSE management system in force and in recognition of the fact that safe operations depend not only on technically good plants and equipment, but on competent personnel and an active HSE culture.

It is policy to:

Maintain safety in construction works and provide safe facilities and equipment that are properly designed, engineered, constructed, maintained and operated. Comply with all legal requirements nationally, international standards and Charvet Nigeria limited policies.

Monitor the health of all employees on a regular basis to ensure that they have the physical capacity to perform their task. Work with our contractor and suppliers to help them commit to our HSE standards. Maintain adequate emergency response procedures and resources to minimize the impact of incidents and accidental cases for effectiveness. Ensure that employees, contractors and stakeholders are constantly aware of, trained on our HSE requirements and abide by them.

Conduct internal controls and periodic review, backed by independent audits to verify that adequate measures have been taken and identify possible area of improvement. Strive to reduce the environmental impact of all our operations, to identify and minimize risks and prepare to take relevant actions should an incident occur. Pursue continuous improvement in the measures taken to protect the health, safety and environment of those who may be affected by our construction works. Report and analyze all the incidents and anomalies in order to improve procedures, behavior of operators and equipment’s in the running of our operations.

Setup and monitor measurable HSE performance indicators that are part of our business plan and budget, analyze and report part of the quarterly management scoreboard, recognize and motivate those who contribute to improve HSE performance. With the continuous and permanent commitment of everyone, we will achieve these objectives. The management will regularly ascertain that these objectives are met.
